New article on P2PQ at Zeropaid
Radiohead: there is nothing wrong with being depressed. Jaco Pastorius suffered from depression, as have many geniuses. What we hate is BAD MUSIC / SUCK-SHIT / NAVEL GAZING / LamErS. We want innovation, exitement, awe inspiration, FUN, adrenalin, hysteria, beauty, Art, revelation, transformation, uplifting, sonic devastation and real emotion expressed with any combination of the latter.
One night, in 1994, at Disobey in Islington, one of the acts was billed as ??????? ?????. When this act started, there was no one on stage. There was simply, the most brutal, explosive, scary, wild, mind bending, far out, extreme, jaw dropping, inexplicable, stupifying and insane sounds that I have ever heard. After this "set" was finished, a voice came over the PA: if you would like to find out who was behind that set and how it was done, go to the back of the room where you can find the details.
On sale at the back of the room was a set of limited edition sealed envelopes, made from maps, that had black envelopes in them that in turn contained square pieces of sandpaper with perfect holes in the centers for a record spindle. On the front of the inner envelope was the name of the responsible person. The person behind this set was:
Richard James
??????? ?????
Richard James is one of the most mind blowing and exiting artists ever to make records. I became a 100% believer on that night, and anyone who was not totally converted / convinced on that same night could not have been in the same room. What a man. What a maniac. What a genius!

If you want to read something funny, read about how top Perl geeks charge $20,000 for one weekend of perl training PER PERSON!
Thats what we call a $BIGNUMBER
Im all for humor, but when you are trying to get your head into a space, and understand something tricky (like regexps), joke cracking, unless its carefully used, can be a useless distraction. The humor starts from the first page; spare the jokes until later in the book, I want to learn Perl!

Im currently reading / doing "Learning Perl 2nd Edidion" Its very good; though I dont like the way Shwartz & Co. use nonsense words as variables in examples sometimes. After knowing only BASIC, Perl is not too much of a big leap. Perl, when its properly written, reads like english; it has grammar. Of course TIMTOWTDI, and you can write Perl that is totally illedgible. They have contests to see who can write the most obscured Perl routines...If any of you are using a cool editor, let me know; I use Jedit most of the time, because it visually alerts you when you mess up your syntax.
Anyone taken a look at the .Net specifcation?
They will never get away with it.....or maybe not.
And as for the blogger two buttons problem, just press "post & publish" by default...works for me.

Everybody of course have heard of xircle which is as easy as it gets (now with an OSX version!). I have found some great people on IRC...its serverd me well, despite EFFnet being extremely hostile in places.
Radiohead? I have to agree with Davros, Radiohead are NOT my cup of ANYTHING. Just like Tortoise. They both suck so bad its almost like youre dreaming of a crap band, only to find that you are not asleep, and yes, "oh shit", these guys really exist.

I wish that it was easy to port software to every platform; havig been involved in a complex software project, I can testify to the dificulty of porting an application to multiple OSes. In an ideal world, I would have one person doing the development for the windoze version of P2PQ another for Linux and one for MacOSX, but it would have been extremely expensive, when we are putting all of our efforts into creating a working project. We hope to be able to create a native MacOSX client and a native Linux Client, but if thats not possible, then it will have to be Java for all non windoze OSes, which would suck a little, since java is generally slow.
I cant understand why Mac people never use IRC; you can find EVERYTHING YOU WANT on IRC, its a piece of piss to use, and blows Hotline out of the water...
As for those kids who posted links to MP3s, well, any court that upholds something like that is simply making the law an ass. They clearly cannot distinguish between a device and a piece of text. A device is a physical object, like a hard drive or monitor, a piece of text, wether its hypertext or plaintext, is (or should be) protected as a universal right when it comes to publishing. If a link points to a copyrighted file or text, it does not connect to it in any way like taking the actual text and reproducing it this is the critical distinction that the courts cannot make. It might take the death of all the judges and thier replacement by computer literate people for these legal precedents to be struck down. I cant wait for some Ambulance Chaser to realize that Google and all of the other serach engines are doing the exact same thing that Napster was doing. Now THAT would be a cause celeb! (SP)

Music City used to run many open nap servers, where millions of tracks could be found. Then they switched over to Morpheus, which i have not yet tried. I would be VERY surprised if anyone pays to use Napster. Why should you pay someone money to list the tracks you have on your HD? After all, thats what Napster does, it lists tracks. If someone takes on the role of the major player on Open Nap we may see a return of high population / quality Napster use. They will have to find a country where the legislature understands the difference between hosting a list of the location of information and hosting the information itself. This is a crucial difference that computer illiterates simply do not get, and its what brought Napster crashing down. If they can get people to pay for access, it will be a big breakthrough for the subscription model. That has got to be one of the shortest lived revolutions ever. There are still plenty of open nap servers online; it doesnt appear that they are linked: Napigator keeps a dynamic list of whats running.

Sky Analogue...did anyone ever get to use Season/Benedex/Whatever?
And for you users of Sky Digital, do you notice that every so often, your box dials up the telephone and sends something? I don't know why no one has grabbed the data that is sent out and analysed it, but Im sure that Sky must be harvesting the viewing habbits of every Sky Digital user. Think about it; you pay Sky to watch TV, Sky sells your viewing habbits to whoever can pay, Sky makes you pay for movies and Sky makes you watch adverts as well.
Now THAT is a business!
It would be great to get a crack for Sky Digital; then everybody can watch all the encrypted Asian channels; they rule. And even if you dont move your dish, you can still watch all of the German TV channels; they have the most filthy, far out, and WiErD programmes that I have ever seen on TV. One of the best is the David Letterman clone, that is a 100% copy Daves show, including the set, the titles the band, everything. Believe it or not, Irdial-Discs was on one of the regularly scheduled sex "documentary" shows which was doing a piece on Telephone Cards. This was along with an artist who used piss mixed with powderd colors as medium of choice.

I had another, longer go on OSX last weekend, and twigged that OSX comes with tsch as the default shell! Why oh why would they DO THAT??! Thankfully you can get bash for darwin easily....learning another shell is just not in my plan at the moment.
Have you seen the new spellchecker that Blogger has? How cool is that??!

i wanted to have a go back. but i don't know how..
You need some Sploits
You need to get a firewall, for sure. Its a jungle out there. Aparently, it only takes 15 minutes for a new server to get scanned as soon as its put on the net.
As for .htaccess, have you tried Comanche? also, there is a java apache configuration tool...cant find the URL :[
leave them fun stuff on ftp 21. that should piss them off.
please eat...it's good for you.
cira.ca is completely pathetic. if someone
owns a third level domain say xyz.on.ca
and you register the unowned xyz.ca you must get
permission from the third level domain owner. now we know
dns here right??? there is no fucking conflict here in anyway
shape or form. basically they are registering WORD's not DOMAIN
NAMESPACES!!!! FUCK THEM THE NAZI FACIST SCUMBAGS!!
CIRA.CA GO FUCKING DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today, I was playing around with the tools in Acrobat 5, and a PDF entitled "a digital video primer" published by Adobe. I found that this file is LOCKED and ENCRYPTED, so that you cannot copy text, cannot extract pictures, cannot add notes or edit the document in any way.
Red rag to a bull.
From previous experience, I knew that you can print a restricted PDF to file and then distill it into a new PDF, preserving the file intact, but stripping all of the security. I tried this attack first, with Distiller 3, Distiller 4 Distiller 5 and the "Distiller", "PDFwrite" that comes with Ghostscript. All of them failed with the error that the file was encrypted, and that distilling an encrypted .ps file from a secure PDF was "not allowed". The Adobe Distillers go throughout the entire process of Distilling the file, including counting the pages as they are processed. It is only at the end that you get the following warning:
%%[ ProductName: Distiller ]%% This PostScript file was created from an encrypted PDF file. Redistilling encrypted PDF is not permitted. %%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%% %%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%using PDFwrite, the same thing happened when trying to distill a .ps file created by Acrobat 5 printing to file.; everything was processed as if the PDF was going to be written, and then only at the end you get a similarly formatted error log. I suspect that somewhere there is a cleartext PDF in a /temp directory that could be intercepted...hmmmmm The next possible attack was opening the PDF file in Illustrator 9; it failed, asking for a password to open the file. Opening in Photoshop 6.1 also failed. Printing the file "to file" with a linotronic 330 printer driver produced a .ps file which refused to distill on all distillers with the same security warning. The .ps file could however be opened and viewed in Ghostscript. Saving the file to EPS in Ghostscript produced an EPS that displayed a single blank page in Illustrator 9 and Photoshop 6.1. Opening the original file in GSview the front end for Ghostscript, produced an error, since the file was encrypted; there is a patch that needs to be installed so that you can use GSview/Ghostscript to open encrypted PDFs. The patch worked, and the encrypted file opened. I was then able to export the encrypted file to a PDF. This stripped all of the security from the PDF, allowing full access to the complete contents of the file, and full editing functionality. The stripped file is identical to the original file in every way, save that the encryption has been defeated. No need to brute force passwords, no need to print and re-capture (capturing inside Acrobat Capture was also a disallowed function btw). "Trying to secure bits is like trying to make water not wet". This is true, and it is true of the PDF format. Because it is designed for printing there will always be a point in the document stream where you can capture the raw data, and then reconstruct the exact document, minus the security. This is quite different to the "encrypted channel to speakers / monitor" systems that are being designed now, because PDFs need to be printable to paper, which is always a clear text end product, rendering all attempts to "secure" PDFs moot. Adobe will have to add security into Postscript itself, so that the attacker has to chase the cleartext right down to the laser in the printer. This will make it hard, but not impossible, to intercept cleartext in the printing chain. Amazingly, Governments have released sensitive documents to the public, with postscript rendered black rectangle elements to obscure the names of ther informers / collaborators /spies. Anyone can strip the security from these files, remove the rectangles and read the information. This has already happened. Whats interesting is that Adobe is still putting these options into Acrobat, as if they will be any good at stoping people from editing / viewing hidden elements in PDFs. Its probably enough to stop the ordinary user, but when sensitive or valuable information normally ends up being replicated, its a sure thing that any sensitive info passed around in PDFs will be open to widespread reading thanks to these simple strip attacks. Maybe Adobe can call its new version of Postscript "Postcrypt"!
The mantra is, that if you have a static IP and a fat pipe, you need to get your boxen behind a firewall.
ummmm let me guess, Effnet IRC? Effnet is a VERY agressive place, so watch out....ive had my machine (windoze) remotely rebootted for me [several times] whilst chatting on IRC....

Know the Facts.
1.Rabbits are not "low-maintenance" pets, and are a
poor choice as a pet for children.
2.They have a lifespan of 10 years and require as much
work as a dog or cat.
3.Your home must be bunny-proofed, or Thumper will chew
electrical cords and furniture. SPARK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
4. Rabbits must be spayed or neutered or they will mark your
house with feces/poopie and urine.
5. They should live indoors, as members of the family. To consign
these sensitive, intelligent, social animals to life in a hutch is to
miss the joy of sharing your life with a rabbit. yeah, sucka.
Clearly, rabbits aren't for everyone.

blocking icmp is no sweat but the host unknown is the trouble.
i have the 12.-> but i cannot get my pings to resolve to that #(12.->).
i just get "host unknown" unless i use www before the domain. netscan will
not turn up the ip ethier. i'm not sure what he did there to get the host
unknown sans www. all pings(forward) will usually resolve to the ip before
you get any response timed out or otherwise but this one will not. as for
the reverse that does not apply here. any ideas? try it if you have the chance.

I had my first play around with OSX yesterday, on a fast mac with the top of the range *unreal* cinema display; uh oh; suddenly, apple totaly rules!!!!!! Now if they release OSX for intel, then.....ugh, i dont know what, but I'll run it instead of linux or windoze for sure, because i will finally be able to get *all* my crucial appz in a UNIX environment! It was pretty amazing to type "perl -v" in a terminal on an out of the box mac....what can I say? its just the coolest move EVER by apple. i can develop my perl scripts, practice my regexps *and* use the most lush and idiot proof software "just because I can". Amazing; its easy enough for the ultimate LaMer, but as deep as UNIX...what an achievement, a single box that is literally for EVERYBODY simultaneously. Forget all of this bullshit about "Linux being ready / not being ready for the desktop" OSX is IT, NOW, no question, no doubt. It also comes with Apache and everything else thats totally cool. what we need now is for OSX to be ported to intel, so that developers flock to it, then there will be no looking back, except to laugh!!!

Discreet; in other words, clearly definable, self contained, separate.
Main Entry: discreet
Pronunciation: di-'skrEt
Function: adjective
Etymology: Middle English, from Middle French discret, from Medieval Latin discretus, from Latin, past participle of discernere to separate, distinguish between -- more at DISCERN
Date: 14th century
I could have used a more clear word/phrase...oh well, you posted.
???? i hear you.... but 'discreet' seems a little
bit of a "privileged" stance to take if you get

Protest!!!!
and stick it to the electric companies, right in their wallet. a mass blackout
could have financial impact on those bastards. and show us how dependant we are
on that little buzzing wire...
ROLL YOUR OWN BLACK OUT THE FIRST DAY OF SUMMER
JUNE 21, 2001 THURS EVE, 7-10pm worldwide, all time zones
---------------------------------------------------
In protest of George W. Bush's energy policies and lack of emphasis on
efficiency, conservation and alternative fuels, there will be a voluntary
rolling blackout on the first day of summer, June 21 at 7pm - 10pm in any time
zone (this will roll it across the planet).
It's a simple protest and a symbolic act. Turn out your lights from 7pm-10pm on
June 21. Unplug whatever you can unplug in your house. Light a candle to the
sungod, kiss and tell, make love, tell ghost stories, do something instead of
watching television, have fun in the dark.
Forward this email as widely as possible, to your government representatives and
environmental contacts. Let them know we want global education, participation
and funding in conservation, efficiency and alternative fuel efforts -- and an
end to over exploitation and misuse of the earth's resources.

Labour supports email spy policy
by Wendy Brewer Friday, 18 May 2001 The government is backing EU plans to extend the state's power to snoop at private emails. Under the proposals, all email communications will have to be retained by ISPs for a seven-year period. "Only people who have something to hide should be worried," said a spokesperson at the Department of Trade and Industry. "The government will only have cause to browse emails if they have their suspicions about a user. They simply don't have the time or money to check every email sent." The proposals were revealed in a leaked EU report earlier this week. But Human Rights groups are enraged by the proposals claiming they breach a fundamental right to privacy. Having already campaigned against RIPA (the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act), which gives government the right to demand encryption codes, protestors are now infuriated these powers may be extended. "This was meant to strike a balance," said a press officer for the EC. "Governments need maximum powers to catch cyber criminals, but there will always be people who are unhappy." The European Union's Justice and Home Affairs Committee will consider the proposals on 28 May.Sunday, May 20, 2001

The Gnutella protocol does not scale; it is being changed so that it will scale. This involves making more powerful clients on fat pipes into supernodes that can handle indexing, while less powerful nodes are simply leech / storage nodes.
"Legitimate" sources will never be as cool / popular as Gnutella, becaus they always have to have one eye over thier shoulders due to ambulance chasers trying to shut them down/make a buck. Napster is being abandoned because of this lawyer/RIAA pressure; check out the numbers: Napster is loosing users because so much is being filtered.
Once the problems of the Gnutella scaling, structure and anonymity are solved, it will grow expontionally; nothing can compete with free access to EVERYTHING; no "legal" site can compete; its as simple as that. What will be interesting to see is what happens to those sites that provide www interfaces to Gnutella, and wether or not the RIAA BiaTcEs will try to shut them down.
Journalists (who are mostly computer illiterates) do not have the necessary capacity to imagine what it would be like to have free access to everything in a way that is totally unstopabble and unrestricted. This is why they always say that it wont work, or that there is some fix over the horizon that will solve it all. They have no direct experience with Warez or Cracking, and so dont understand that there is NOTHING anyone can do to stop the free flow of files on a network.
These dumbasses cant even find out this stuff from Google. Filesharing is here to stay; no matter how hard they try, the RIAA and thier pig bedfellows will always fail. HMG today said that it will back email snooping legislation being out forward by the EEC. These nimrods dont even understand that the next version of Sendmail (the program that is responsible for 99.99% of all emailsent in the world) will have unbreakable transparently inplimented end to end encryption build in by default,so that no ones email, in transit and when it sits on an ISPs server will be readable by the ISP, or anyone else.
We are going to have our freedom; privacy online will be universal, the free exchange of files will be commonplace. What will have to change is how artists and labels are compensated. This will probably mean users taking personal responsibility for compensating the artists and labels that they enjoy by buying tshirts and maybe physical sound carriers & other stuff.
This is the new reality, and its good. Its a shock, it takes getting used to, but once you sit and THINK about it, it makes sense, and takes your breath away with its simplicity.
And as for this "virus" bullshit, well this just proves that the article was written by a total LamEr; these are the same l00sers that use outlook express and click on "nudehornyhousewife.jpg" the instant that it arrives in their inbox. These virus red herrings are boring at best, and will not do anything but discredit the lamers that write this sort of FUD/trash talk.

"Loft Story," based on the exploits of a group of twentysomethings in a sealed compound jammed with television cameras, has attracted huge ratings since its launch a few weeks ago.
In an emergency sitting called after fierce criticism of the programme led by French intelligentsia and clergy, the Paris-based CSA authority ruled that the constant TV scrutiny of the contestants harmed their human rights.
"(The authority) requires daily breaks of significant and reasonable duration in which no audio or visual recording or broadcasting shall take place," it said in a statement.
"Regardless of the aim of the programme or the fact that the contestants have given their consent, it is imperative from the point of human dignity that there are places and times in which they are not submitted to public observation," it added.
When was the last time you heard the word intelligentsia used to describe a living person?!! And ummm, the human rights of the contestants demands that they have the right to be filmed in ANY WAY THAT THEY CONSENT TO BE FILMED. DUH!

Unbelievable: HMG adopts PGP!
"the UKGovernment is to implement encryption technology to enable secure e-mail communication between its departments, a move that could save taxpayer's money and increase efficiency. PGP Security last week said it was to supply government departments with a 128-bit version of its PGP for HMG encryption product. It said the product would provide encryption technology at the approved baseline/ restricted level which would enable government bodies and commercial partners to communicate securely. "Any government information that is sensitive is not sent electronically, instead it is saved on a disc and physically taken to the other department - at the taxpayer's expense," said Mark Tucker, sales manager for PGP. The company said version 6.0 of PGP for HMG will be fully inter-operable with its commercial counterpart. "The sheer volume of restricted information that governments need to transfer electronically means they need a solution they can trust," said John Doody, head of customer services at the government's National Technical Information Security Authority.Wednesday, May 02, 2001

Mobile Photography
High-quality telephones are only half the story. The DoCoMo store also featured a range of more specialized mobile Internet appliances. The two examples shown here are intended for mobile photography. Camessepetit and Eggy both let users snap photos, which they can then decorate with cartoonish overlays and transmit to others who are using similar devices or regular i-mode telephones.
The report of the Demise of The Buzzer was premature; we check the buzzer every day, and the day that we thought it had gone west, it actually became audible extremely late in the day. This may have been to the coronal mass ejections / sunsopots that have been blasting the earth this month.
Normally, we can start to hear The Buzzer late in the afternoon, but that day, it started to become barely audible at around 7ish, which is *really* late. As soon as we heard the Buzzer in its normal place, we n00ked the post, which accounts for the blotting out...

Laziness is one of themost powerful energies in the universe.
Closely related to entropy, laziness is like heroin/morphine/percocet addiction. Its ssooooooooooo good, so enveloping, warm comfortable and reassuring, that once you have to give it up, its like being one of the living dead.
Like chemical drug addiction, the Rich can afford to feed their laziness habbit. They can swan around "stoned" all day, drinking coffe, excersising, watching Dragonball Z, screwing, what-ever. And as it is with chemical addiction (coke), the "old money" Rich mind set can live with laziness, and are not destryoed by it; just look at all the pop stars / lottery winners who get rich quick, stop working, and then die because they get "bored".
Yes dear friends, if you can, choose laziness, "Ne travaillez jamais" they said in '68 (aparently).
Words to live by....

The draconian-sounding Italian law about people running websites
needing to join the Italian equivalent of the NUJ, have a "responsible
editor" etc. became law on the 5th or April.
I've been following rants about it but don't think I understand what
it really amounts to.
Broadly speaking, it seems to be in line with other Italian
legislation in that it can't possibly mean what it appears to, but
if the authorities decide they don't like you they can probably use it
to put you in prison for ever.
I read a Q&A with one of the supporters of the law which read a lot
like HO stuff here about why RIPA isn't scary.
Does everyone with a website need to register?
No, of course not, that would be silly.
So who, then?
People who run online newspapers.
How do you know if you run an online newspaper?
If you make information available to the general public.
So, any web page?
No, only if you update it regularly.
etc. etc.
This is from memory. I certainly didn't come away with a clear idea of
whether my "recreational maths books" web page would be an online
newspaper if I updated it every time I bought or read a recreational
maths book.
Some of the people who are worried about the law claim that you can
theoretically get a life sentence for breaking it (because anonymous
publishing is very very illegal in Italy).
Mind you, Italy has some odd laws. It's illegal to be rude about
foreign heads of state. Note that as the Vatican is a foreign country
this would make it illegal to be rude about the Pope. Hmm.

like chewing rocks. i had just made a 500$ support call
to ms and found out that almost the entire first shipment
of sbs2000 was sent out with the wrong keycodes! now that's
corporate caring....to make matters worse the entire install will
run and ONLY THEN will you be notified that the incorrect key
was entered. i can't believe this sh@tty product. shame on
them. it'll eat up all your nntp, smtp and tcp/ip as well during
this install. wish i didn't have to work with this sh@t but you gotta pay
if you want to play.

Somebody forgot to tell Alcatel that the Track Changes feature of Microsoft Word is a dangerous thing to use when you plan to make the document available online and the publisher of said document doesn't have a clue about how to merge the changes in permanently prior to making it publicly available for all to see. With all of their commentary intact, the document was made available online, and is somewhat enlightening to those that really believe that these companies care about customers. Check out the entirety of Alcatel's classic PR move.

Were really looking forward to trying OSX; we can run all of our legacy Mac apps, and all of the new naitive stuff in a robust and utterly kewl environment. Linux may well be made redundant by OSX, since it does now what Linux will do in another five years.; appeal to the dummies as well as the 3|337. *nix dudez. (and people who need to run ATM) :]
did you write that post in IE for OSX? Or is that not out yet??
It will be a toatl scream to read the millions of posts from the LaMeRs about how they trashed their systems cuz they were logged in as w007 when they were "practicing that horrible command line stuff".

upgrade woes? at work today a botched install on
one of their nt4 mail machines ate the exchange records
for over three hundred users. via the backup all was saved
all be it for my nerves and the lack of food in my system. unfortunate
for me i had to deal with a horrible os but it's not my choice of platforms.
also thru this trying situation ip was taken away and the raid controller
stopped functioning.....needless to say i can relate. nothing like
running a ms network except the steady drip of never ending water
torture. also here in the us...northpoint(line supplier) filed chap 11 and
cut their service......:without notice from their wonderful isp no web-no
mail et al. i had heard that 100,000 accounts were dropped point blank
and again without notice. comcast(cable) and verizon(pstn) are scrambling
to further their already controlling grasp on the communications industry in
the mid-atlantic states. sad. by money...b(u)y freedom. hey home user you
want vpn? take that cable modem at 40$ per month and up it to 90$. what
else is included in this price? nothing! just an open port for pptp. again..
...sad. can someone say "anti-trust"?

Yesterday, tried to upgrade from Mozilla 17 to Mozilla .8, and when untarred the package, the sytem got hosed. x refused to start.
Took the opportunity to n00k the installation and then upgrade to mandrake 7.2, this time without KDE (220meg) and a whole bunch of other stuff, like enlightenment. Couldnt do the upgrade the "right way"; the mandrake 7.2 installer has a broken part in it; if it detects that you dont have enough space to upgrade, it gets stuck in a loop with an error dialogue.
Have limited space on this drive (1.5gig); need an 8 gig drive to do a less restriced install..then again, its "good practice" (in both ways) to choose and install each package individually. These Linux installers are getting better and better. Next, going to give Debian another try, either progeny or the "real thing". The potato 2.2 installer failed to create a /dev/mouse and frankly, "we need to work!"

As some of you may know there is a census coming around on Sunday April 29
2001
For those who don't know, a census is where the government collates
general information about it's residents (number of people living in
your house, religion, etc)
Apparently, if there are enough people in Great Britain, who put down a
religion that isn't mentioned on the census form it becomes a fully
recognised and legal religion. It usually takes about 10,000 people to
nominate the same religion. It is for this reason that it has been
suggested
that anyone who does not have a dominant religion to put "Jedi" as their
religion.
Send this on to all your friends and tell them to put down "Jedi" on
their census form. And remember ......If you are a member of the Jedi
religion then you are by default a 'Jedi Knight'.
So If this has been your dream since you were 4 years old.... Do it cos
you love Star Wars, If not........... then just do it to annoy people.

Nuts and bolts
One of Extreme's key tenants requires programmers to release a nuts-and-bolts version of its product to the customer first and then continue to build additional features afterward. This immediately remedies the time-to-market problem, and customers wind up with a less buggy product to which features are added as the customer demands. Extreme also requires programmers to maintain a direct relationship with the customer. Rather than packing a product with thousands of features, the customer can specify exactly what they want, and the programmer can focus on perfecting a few features. Programmers must write tests for their own programs before they begin coding. These tests are used instead of an independent "quality assurance," or testing, group--a technique that will save time, according to Extreme's advocates. During the coding process, programmers also practice a technique called re-factoring. This involves constantly working to simplify the code. By keeping code clean and defining things only once, programmers reduce the number of errors that must be addressed later. For code writers themselves, one of the most striking differences is Extreme's requirement of pair programming. Once they switch to pairs, many programmers say they prefer it because the team approach can dramatically boost productivity and quality. Extreme also mandates communal ownership of all code. http://www.xprogramming.com/what_is_xp.htm
basically i my opinion gwb is a tool. a puppet if you will
and for that matter they all have been and probably always
will be. but it does matter who they are the puppets for.
and this stat:"84 have been arrested for drunk driving in
the last year" out of 535 is pretty poor #'s let face it. if
anything most people in congress and in the upper levels
of the us gov are 'insulated monks'. they just seem
worldly as they have had to put up with each others bullshit
for years. it's all a big f#ing joke man, come on. we have no
real say and will never have it again unless people decide on
their own that they are ready to release control which
will not happen. i am not advocating giving up on trying to
get things done but it's quite futile and getting more so daily.
this is the truth anyway you would choose to slice it i'm sorry
to say. yes yes we are at the top of the game(us) but at
what cost? guts?????? perhaps the ones on the sidewalks
of our bloody past and future. we are guily of genocide even
nazi germany can't claim the success we have achieved in
this dept. are we the only country to have such a past? ov
course not but it's easy to forget when your drinking a f&*ing
pepsi.
clinton, was he better?? of course not it's all a sham. that the
fucking truth! nike/sprite/n' sync is there any difference? cisco
will be the death of us all.......perhaps that's taking it too far.
or is it? we can crawl into our little cyber worlds of our own
making or open the windows and let the fresh air in!!!!!!!

Can you imagine working for a company that has a little more than 500
employees and has the following statistics:
*29 have been accused of spousal abuse
*7 have been arrested for fraud
*19 have been accused of writing bad checks
*117 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at leased 2 businesses
*3 have done time for assault
*71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit
*14 have been arrested on drug-related charges
*8 have been arrested for shoplifting
*21 are currently defendants in lawsuits
*84 have been arrested for drunk driving in the last year
Can you guess which organization this is?
Give up yet?
It's the 535 members of the United States Congress.
The same group that crank out hundreds of new laws each year
designed to keep the rest of us in line.
Whatever.
This is doing the rounds amongst the "office drones with email circuits". What it implies is that congressmen with the above attributes are not fit to rule because they have made these "mistakes", and it further implies that only people with "clean records" should rule. I beg to differ. These people are EXACTLY the sort of people that we need to rule; people with REAL EXPERIENCE of REAL LIFE, not insulated monks who know nothing about the way that everybody lives. Its great that GWB has snorted coke, maybe he will have a more rational approach to drug regulation. "Slick Willy"; I'd rather have a man with balls in charge than some vile holier than thou abstainer; he even had the guts to apologies for the MK ULTRA atrocities. What other president had the guts to even admit that it went on, much less apologize. Life is dirty. Life has rough edges. Congressmen have to deal with all of the most vile manipulative elements in the USA, and in order to repel these evil men, they have to have direct knowledge of "evil" and all of the bad practices that the "normal" (those who are not holding high office) folk get up to. In any case all of this is moot; in the USA, people elect their representatives, and all of this stuff is known BEFORE they are elected to public office. The above list only shows that America has got it right; they elect their peers to run their government, not empty shells or false "role models" who are living double lives. Americans can take the truth. They are miles ahead of every other country on earth. But you knew that...
Now THAT looks interesting; this really is the way forward; differentiation through taking responsibility for your tools; as soon as you use software thats publicly available, which today pretty much means keyboards as well as the accursed laptops, you are instanly trapped in a sound "gamut" from which its difficult to escape. If however, you build your own tools, you are working in your own space, and it will be very much more simple to break out and really explore. It would be great to hear this machine in action; I wonder what it would sound like very loud.....
It looks like something that would be sensitive to how it was amplified, and also sensitive to how much the battery had drained. There is nothing quite as lovely as the sound of battery powered amplification / crude synthesiser that is running on an almost dead set of batteries.
What other lamps has Davros been hiding under his bushel??!
sell it to me!!!!! nah, just kidding. enjoy that thing.
much respect to you for the motivation and ingenuity.
